Questions
Is the ledger double-entry? Yes — every posted journal balances in local currency.
Posted lines are immutable. Corrections use reversing entries with lineage back to the original posting so auditors can follow the trail.
Can we keep document currency separate from the books? Yes. Documents keep face currency; journals store authoritative LCY.
Invoices and bills keep the currency the customer or vendor sees. The ledger stores the local-currency snapshot taken at posting so history does not rewrite when rates move.
Do we have to use a country chart template? No — templates are optional for new workspaces.
New workspaces can start from a country chart template. Imported charts keep the exact account codes you already use, including dotted codes from an older ERP.
What happens at period end for foreign balances? Open AR and AP can be revalued; realised FX posts on settlement.
Period-end unrealised FX journals revalue open foreign balances. When you settle across currencies, realised FX posts into the ledger so the cash cycle stays honest.
Which statements can we export? P&L, balance sheet, trial balance, general ledger, and the journal register.
Statutory and management views export to CSV, Excel, and PDF. View-in currency converts for display without rewriting posted LCY history.
| Statement | What it shows |
|---|---|
| P&L | Period income and expense with classifications |
| Balance sheet | As-of assets, liabilities, and equity |
| Trial balance | Debit and credit totals by account |
| General ledger | Line-level movement for an account |
Can we close and lock months? Yes — open, closed, and locked periods enforce posting dates.
Accounting periods gate which dates may post. Locked months refuse new journals so month-end stays closed once the team is done.
What this does not do

- File statutory returns directly with a tax authority
- Run a personal budgeting app for individuals
