Questions
How is stock valued? Weighted-average cost, with COGS when invoice lines issue stock.
Opening, purchase, and adjustment movements update the item ledger and value entries. When an invoice line issues stock, COGS posts into the ledger at WAC.
Do fixed assets support tax depreciation? Yes — dual book and tax methods feed CIT.
The register stores useful life, residual, and dual book/tax methods. Depreciation runs by as-of date; tax accumulators feed the CIT working paper.
Can we export an inventory book? Yes — CSV export of the inventory book for the period.
On-hand and ledger views respect period gates so stock reports match the month you are closing.
Is this a full warehouse management system? No — it is stock ledgers and assets beside finance, not a standalone WMS.
Barcode receive/pick flows may exist for operations teams, but this module’s promise is WAC inventory and a depreciating fixed-asset register — not a separate warehouse product.
What happens on asset disposal? Disposal posts with net book value handling.
When you dispose an asset, Omnizone posts the NBV outcome so the register and the ledger stay aligned.
Which industries typically run this? Trading, manufacturing, and retail teams that need stock to match the books.
Professional-services-only companies often skip deep inventory; manufacturers and distributors usually keep this module on from day one.
What this does not do
- Shop-floor MES or bill-of-materials explosion
- Barcode WMS as a standalone warehouse product
- Real-estate property management for landlords
